Alache is a multi-purpose plant. It is used as a vegetable, herb and medicine.
We chose it as our namesake because not only is it native to Mexico, but because it is a plant that is as beautiful as it is useful in all of its stages.
For us, sustainability goes beyond the traditional idea of meeting the needs of the present without compromising future generations' ability to meet their own.
It means considering the ecological, human, and economic health and vitality aspects of our actions.
Sustainability presumes that "resources are finite, and should be used conservatively and wisely with a view to long-term priorities and consequences of the ways in which resources are used.”

It was 2015 when my shopping (and overall life) choices did a 180º change and I decided to begin the journey towards more sustainable living. My interest in sustainable fashion lead me to apply for a double-degree master program in environmental sciences, at the UASLP in Mexico and ITT-TH Köln in Germany. During this time, I really dove into the consumer behavior driving the greening of the garment industry in Mexico. Since then, I've added resource efficiency/ circular economy to the mix, thanks to a fruitful stint at the GIZ. I spend my time continuously expanding my knowledge and understanding of sustainability, in and beyond fashion.
